Michele Carlo a.k.a. @Michele_asShell is the redhead with 8,000,000 stories about New York City. She is a native New Yorker, a Nuyorican and an author/storyteller/ performer who has appeared across the U.S., including the MOTH's GrandSlams and Mainstage in N.Y.C. and on NPR with Latino U.S.A. Her debut book, the acclaimed memoir Fish Out Of Agua: My life on neither side of the (subway) tracks, was published by Citadel/Kensington in 2010.
Michele curates, produces and hosts storytelling shows, including NYC’s first (and best) all native-New Yorker story series, "It Came From New York," (2005-present), the "Super Storytellers Edition" with NoName productions (2013-present) and most recently with The New York Story Exchange. She was also featured in the 2015 Emmy award-winning PBS documentary "Latino Americans of NY & NJ".
